Biography

Known for his great achievements in the automobile industry, Henry Ford was one of the most innovative inventors and businessmen of the 1920s. In 1903, he founded the Ford Motor Company, which quickly became the largest automobile manufacturer in the 1920s. It sold the Model-T, a convenient and low-cost automobile that most American families could afford.

Henry Ford was born on a farm near Dearborn, Michigan in 1863. Educated in district schools, he later became a machinist's apprentice at the age of sixteen. Through experimentation in his leisure tie, Ford was able to develop the first automobile utilizing a combustion engine.

Henry Ford did more than just manufacture and sell automobiles. He was also known for his innovations in labor practices and industry standards. Although he was not the first person to incorporate the assembly line, he was generally attributed with it becoming n industrial standard. And he also began a practice of increased wages to improve employee morale, and thus improving overall performance. Such practices made Henry Ford known also for his achievements in labor and manufacturing.

In 1945, Henry Ford retired with an estimated wealth of $700 million, and then he died 2 years later. He will always be remembered for his achievements in the automobile industry.
