Introduced by Lawrence Dallaglio, and presented and narrated by Mark Durden-Smith, The Official History of English Rugby traces the origins of the game from it's inception at Rugby School through to Autumn International success against Australia in 2005 and defeat of Grand Slam champions Wales in the 2006 Six Nations. It was the arrival of Clive Woodward in 1998 that really set England on the road to world domination, although the Grand Slam seemed an elusive prize as England fell at the final hurdle, four years in a row, from 1999 to 2002. However, England went into the 2003 Six Nations on the back of sensational performances against New Zealand, Australia and South Africa in the Autumn Internationals and wrapped up the Grand Slam after tearing the Irish apart 42-6 in a scintillating display of rugby from Lansdown Road. England took this form to the World Cup having beaten Australia and New Zealand again in 2003 and the rest is history.
